Personalized Care for Optimal Health
Personalized, Preventative, Participatory™
If you’re struggling with a chronic condition, suffering with unexplained symptoms or simply looking to improve your well-being, an integrative approach can help restore and maintain optimal health so you can be your best self.
Why choose Integrative & Functional Medicine
Integrative medicine combines evidence-based practices and holistic approaches to evaluate & treat the whole person.
Physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being are equally assessed in a root-cause evaluation as we look to understand and address the imbalances causing symptoms. And importantly, the patient is co-partner in creating wellness plans that take into account not just the medical diagnosis, but also personal goals, values and preferences.
Wellness plans at ElementalMed are guided by the functional medicine biopsychosocial paradigm and may include alternative therapies, supplements, nutritional therapies, and conventional medications, along with lifestyle supports to help you be your best self.
Commonly treated conditions include: fatigue and exhaustion; mood and sleep disorders; issues with weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure; digestive issues; women’s health issues; joint and muscle pain; thyroid and adrenal issues; disease prevention & health optimization.
Please note: ElementalMed functions as a specialty consult service and does not offer traditional primary care services. Dr. O’Neill does not bill insurance directly, she is an out-of-network provider.
“Symptoms are not enemies….but sacred messengers who encourage us to take better care of ourselves”

Personal Experience
“Long before I was a doctor, I was a patient with health issues not responding to conventional treatment. By circumstance, and ultimately fate, this brought me to a seventh-generation Cherokee medicine man (later, my mentor) who practiced naturopathy. His guidance improved my health and sparked an interest in holistic medicine that lead me to osteopathic medical school. I chose osteopathy for it’s legacy mind-body-spirit philosophy, an emphasis on “finding the health within”, and training in osteopathic manual medicine.
I deepened and expanded my integrative skills studying with renowned teachers in osteopathy, functional medicine, acupuncture and yoga during a post-graduate fellowship — applying these skills to better my patients health and also my own (the demands of medical training take a toll!)
Some years later while living and working on the Navajo Nation, I was introduced to the idea of Hózhó, which succinctly spoke to the common thread of my trainings and personal experience. Hózhó is the belief that we experience full health only when we live in balance in all aspects of life; when we “walk in beauty”. This concept guides me in my personal journey and in the way I approach patient care.”

Lifestyle
Numerous studies show lifestyle is the greatest contributor to our health. Lifestyle habits — sleep, stress management, movement, food choices, relationships — influence the health of our body and mind by affecting gene expression and related metabolic functions.
-
Nutrition
Food as medicine is an age-old concept now well-documented in medical research. Food choices positively or negatively influence hormone signaling, neurotransmitter production and inflammation, setting the stage for our physical and mental health.

Lab Evaluation
Labs provide insight into dozens of biomarkers to guide, track, and fine-tune wellnes plans.
Traditional labs are viewed through an integrative lens — not just what is "normal” range but what is optimal. Normal ranges are often inadequate for symptom relief or disease prevention. Metabolic imbalances or genetic factors revealed by specialty labs help further personalize wellness plans.
